Known Issues

The following issues have been identified by the Desire2Learn Support Team based on our testing and information provided by the MSU Community. We appreciate your help in identifying these issues as we work with the vendor to provide resolution. Reviewing this list will inform you of existing issues with the system and their workarounds.

Terms to know:

Hotfix – Fix patches provided by the vendor, outside of the monthly patch cycle

Workaround – Alternate means of completing the task at hand, barring an immediate fix

[RESOLVED] IFRAME elements in content break spell checker

Adding iframe elements (commonly used for embedding videos) to content items will cause the HTML editor's spell checker feature to stop functioning.

[RESOLVED] Action buttons for Insert Stuff off screen on smaller screened devices

When editing questions in a quiz or survey, the the insert stuff dialog box can open in such a manner that the action buttons at the bottom are below the bottom of the screen on devices with 800px or less vertical resolution.  Because the question editing interface is frames based, scrolling is not available on the page so users cannot scroll down to see the action menu.

[RESOLVED] User Progress displays only 10 days

When viewing the Login History option under User Progress, you can only see the 10 most recent days. Then the 10 days repeat themselves on the page.

[RESOLVED] Feedback Read Not Updated for Dropbox

Feedback Read is not updated when a student views the dropbox submission via the Content tool instead of via the Dropbox tool.

Feedback will be marked as read if the student accesses their feedback directly from the Dropbox tool.

[RESOLVED] Question pool questions may not convert properly to D2L

If you create a question pool question within an ANGEL assessment and, in that question, you select a folder with subfolders, then D2L will display a random question set but it will not contain any questions. The questions will usually still appear within the D2L question library.

There are two options to resolve this issue:

1. You can go back to ANGEL and fix the question pool question so that it is not pulling from a folder with subfolders. So that all of the folders contain the questions directly and not an addtional folder with questions. Then copy the course into a new devlopement space and convert again.

2. You can add the questions from the question library to the random sections in the D2L quiz.

[RESOLVED] Grades Export File is Not Sorted

The grades export file is not sorted by the selected key field.
