The following issues have been identified by the Desire2Learn Support Team based on our testing and information provided by the MSU Community. We appreciate your help in identifying these issues as we work with the vendor to provide resolution. Reviewing this list will inform you of existing issues with the system and their workarounds.

|Sending email to large email lists may generate an error||
Updated on 10/30/17: The D2L email timeout issue has been addressed. As of 10/30/17 MSU is using the D2L hosted mail option. This option should allow the email process to complete more efficently and thus avoid the timeout issue.
Update on 10/18/17: The root cause of the email issue has been identified as a system time out issue. A fix for the issue is currently in progress with an ETA for resolution on 10/30/17.
MSU D2L instructors have reported intermittent errors when sending email to classlists over 100 students in D2L. When instructors send out email to large recipient lists an error message is generated or the email is not delivered to some recipients. At this time, the MSU IT team is seeking a solution to the problem and will keep users updated through this Known Issue Listing.

1) Consider sending email in smaller batches of 50 to 100 students at a time using the options to set the classlist page limit.
2) Use the Registrar Office Instructor Systems to send the message
You may also want to communicate with your classes about the intermittent email errors by using a D2L News Item (Announcement) on your Course Homepage or posting a message to a Q&A Discussion Forum under Communication > Discussions.

After Grading group dropboxes course administrators and other elevated users will recieve grade notifications after grading submissions with Assignment grader

|Unable to edit tables on HTML files||
When editing a table on an HTML file you are unable to edit the entire table at once.

The current work around is to edit each cell indvidually.
|Cannot delete custom widgets||
There is no distinction in D2L between the ability to delete custom widgets, and being able to delete MSU wide widgets. Due to this, users are unable to delete custom widgets in their course.

|Dropbox images shrinking||
When students submitting jpeg or png images into a Dropbox, the image preview for the instructor will shrink the image down to a very small size. Making it difficult to grade.

Have the students submit PDFs or download the images and open them outside of D2L.
|Emails filtering into wrong sub-folder||
When an instructor receives a message from someone in the course, they can use the filter by course option and find the message. However, if they respond to the message and add themselves to the cc area or sends a message to themself in the course it does not appear when they use the filter by course option. In this case it only appears if he filters by the groups within the course.
