Known Issues

The following issues have been identified by the Desire2Learn Support Team based on our testing and information provided by the MSU Community. We appreciate your help in identifying these issues as we work with the vendor to provide resolution. Reviewing this list will inform you of existing issues with the system and their workarounds.

Terms to know:

Hotfix – Fix patches provided by the vendor, outside of the monthly patch cycle

Workaround – Alternate means of completing the task at hand, barring an immediate fix

[RESOLVED] Log Out link keeping Single-Sign-On sessions active

Clicking the Log Out link does not close your Single-Sign-On sessions.  Users have to quit the browser in order to close the session.

[RESOLVED] Dropbox submission returning error

When files are uploaded into Dropboxes with special characters in the file name D2L is not able to convert the file.  Example name(3).doc

Removed the special characters and re-upload the file.

Cannot delete custom widgets

There is no distinction in D2L between the ability to delete custom widgets, and being able to delete MSU wide widgets. Due to this, users are unable to delete custom widgets in their course.

[RESOLVED] Can't open feedback files

Students receive an error (404 Not found) when attempting to access their feedback files in a dropbox when accessing the dropbox through the content tab of a course.

If the student accesses the their feedback directly from the dropbox tool, then they can access the feedback files.  Students are not supposed to be able to access feedback files from content.  There is already an existing problem ticket with a request to remove the confusing link from content.

[RESOLVED] Students responses from Quizzes

When an instructor clicks on their attempts for Quizzes it doesn't show all the questions and their responses.

D2L will have to run a script on the course to fix the behavior.  If you get the same issue in other courses file a ticket with D2L and include the incident ticket number of CA 566286.  And D2L's ticket number INC00341767.
